Our Organization

The Massachusetts Council on Economic Education, a 501(c)(3) organization, is the only nonprofit in the state whose primary activity is the promotion and facilitation of economic and personal financial literacy for teachers and their students.   Founded in 1950, MCEE was the first state council to be affiliated with the New York-based Council for Economic Education (CEE), the leading organization in the United States that focuses on economic and financial literacy for K-12 students and teachers.

MCEE delivers financial education in the field across the state by providing professional development for teachers and programs for students.   There is no cost to participants in our workshops or programs.

We currently reach over 500 teachers in the state through our complementary systems.

Centers for Economic Education

Our two centers offer professional development using resources provided by the Council for Economic Education.  The centers are responsible for teachers and communities in their immediate geographic areas.  Support for the university-based centers is provided by in-kind agreements between MCEE and the universities.
